Additions touch nearly every trade: foundation, framing, roofing, siding, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and finish work. As your design-build general contractor, we coordinate all of it, manage the schedule and the subcontractors, handle permits and inspections, and keep you informed the whole way through.

Common questions

What kinds of additions do you build?

We build room additions, second-story additions, in-law and multi-generational suites, sunrooms, expanded kitchens and primary suites, garages, and more. If you need more space, we can help you plan the right way to add it.

Will the addition match the rest of my house?

Yes. Matching the existing rooflines, siding, trim, and finishes is a big part of doing an addition well. Our goal is for the new space to look like it was always part of your home.

Do I need permits for a home addition?

Inside city limits, almost always. As your general contractor we will tell you which permits your addition needs, get the office what it asks for, and be there for the inspections, so you are not chasing the village office between work and dinner. Outside city limits the requirements are lighter and we will say so.

Is it worth adding on versus moving?

For many families, adding onto a home they love, in a location and neighborhood they’re happy in, is a smart alternative to buying and moving. We’re glad to talk through the scope and give you a clear estimate so you can weigh it.
